Why I Wear Red
Yesterday I went paintballing with my friends. I sport a red shirt and a red mask when I play. Red’s not the greatest color for hiding the woods and that’s the point, I don’t believe in sneaking around. I’m not much of a woods player anyways; I like hiding behind made-mad bunkers instead of picking the skinniest tree possible (as I was known for). I wear red so everyone can see me. When I shoot them out, I want them to know who got them.
I destroyed during the second game yesterday. I made it to the 50 almost on the break then I crawled along the snake down the left line. From the end of the snake, I picked off one guy down the line. Another guy came down the line and I shot him out. And then another. They never knew what hit them. It didn’t seem like anyone else was coming down the line so I move up a little and shot one guy out in the middle. The middle was now cleared since my teammates took out the other 1 or 2 guys in the middle. I then snuck around back and shot out the last two guys on the right line since they had no idea I was coming from behind them. It tagged 6 out of 8 people.
After that game, everyone knew who I was and to look out for me. The red shirt struck fear into them. One guy said after we were all done that he was always scared I was going to sneak up behind them (which is extremely hard to do in paintball!) My Red doesn’t give me a tactical advantage but I get a psychological advantage instead. Fear the Red!
