Passion Week Posts
One of my friends used to post the sections of scripture related to the passion week each day. I don’t think he’s doing it this year so I’ll do it since it’s one of those things I looked forward to. Today’s a catch up since I missed yesterday.
Passion Week. Day 2
Today is Monday
Event
Jesus Clears the temple
Mark 11:15-18
On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written:
” ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’?
But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’ ”
The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

Passion Week: Day 1, Palm Sunday
Today is Palm Sunday.
What did Jesus do?
It was his triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.
John 12:12-19
The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
“Hosanna!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Blessed is the King of Israel”
Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written,
“Do not be afraid, O Daugher of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that all these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him.
Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word. Many people, because they had heard that he had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet him. So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!”
