Blessing in Disguise

March 4th, 2009

Part of my Lent commitment was to have an evening worship time. Unfortunately last week I developed a blood blister on my left index finger. I think it came from playing too much guitar as there’s excruciating pain whenever I use it to hold down a string. The plan was to play some songs and pray during my worship time. Well, scratch the song part. I could pray for the whole time but I’m not that holy. Instead, I figured I’d start journaling again. It’s been good to write down my thoughts and feelings. I know it’s the post-modern generation and all that but I still have a sense of privacy. Writing things down has actually helped formulate my thoughts and the clarify the things that I need to pray for and the ways I should be praying. I don’t think I would have started journaling if I hadn’t hurt my finger. Though it stinks not to be able to play guitar, I think it’s actually helped me and forced me to do something I haven’t in a long time.
