What do your book(marks) say about you

February 3rd, 2009

I picked up this strange habit of looking at people’s bookshelves from someone. Whenever I’m allowed into someone’s room, I like looking at their books to see what they read. I think what we read reflects about our interests and what we believe. Currently on my floor you’ll find a book about counseling people in depression, 3 ESV bibles, 1 ESV Study Bible, and another visible book Encountering the World of Islam which I haven’t even started to read. But I think these days, it’s not so much books but more about the websites we frequent. My non-work related tabs at work are Gmail, Google Finance, Tomshardware, Anandtech, Engadget, Slashdot, Google News, and Wall Street Journal Opinions (replaced NYT Opinions). I also follow a few blogs. Other than my friends, I follow Jay Adams, and Tim Challies and whoever Tim likes to post for the day. At home Chrome tells me I like to visit Yahoo! Sports, My Online Bank, Facebook, YouTube, and Fanball Fantasy Sports (though football season is now over). I’m sure you can guess a lot about me from just observing these simple things.

What do your books and bookmarks say about you?
