Compromise is a Killer
The lenten season is over. Over the course of lent I went on the Internet, reviewed about 12 verses in James, didn’t finish reading my Contagious Christianity book, but I did manage to finish the NT through Acts. I will try to finish the NT and Contagious Christianity by the end of the year. I learned I need to make realistic lent commitments. The first weekend of lent, I missed some important emails. I had to modify my commitment so I could check my email. I also need to get online to check resources for Bible Study. I just kept compromising what I could do. I also wasn’t disciplined in my memory verses so I didn’t do them. I can make all sorts of excuses but that’s exactly what they are, excuses. Next year I’ll make a more attainable goal. I should also include accountability for my lent commitment. At least someone to help motivate me and remind me to keep doing it. Perhaps I need to develop some neutral addictions so I can give them up for Lent. Yes . . . neutral addictions . . .
