Going Hard after God

May 13th, 2007

My theme for this summer’s intercession period: Going Hard After God. The idea is based off a a John Piper sermon. (Interesting enough, P.Min preached off the same passage today at church.) Now that there’s no small group, no meetings, no responsibilities, I want to focus my time and energy to getting deeper with God. Some goals I have for this summer:

  • Continue to memorize James. I sorta stalled out in James 3.
  • Read Phillip Yancey’s What’s so Amazing About Grace?
  • Spend more time in personal prayer (go to MP?)
  • Spend more time in the Word (finished book 1 of Psalms, think I’m going to pick another book instead of continuing)
  • Journal more / write a lot of things I’ve been thinking about down

I want to use this time wisely and not just play Mario Strikers all day long . . . and meet up with me if you’re in town! I want to catch up with everyone I couldn’t see during the year.
