CCCNJ Missions Conference
I went home for a meer 2 days (actually less than 48 hours). It was awesome seeing my family and my friends again but the biggest reason I was going home was to see Pastor Milo. I was in shock and they had to say it 3 times for me to finally grasp that we were flying Pastor Milo from Thailand for our missions weekend. He had only been there for 1.5 years and we were inviting him and Pastor Joe to our church for our missions conference. I wasn’t going to miss seeing probably my two favorite pastors speaking at my home church.
More than just seeing them and hearing about PMilo’s time in Thailand, I was really challenged with my future. “There’s a difference between ‘being open to missions’ and actively pursuing missions. We shouldn’t be people who say ‘I’m willing to go, but planning on staying’ but ‘I’m planning on going but willing to stay’. Since my junior year, I’ve always thought ‘I want to go, but God’s telling me to stay’. I don’t feel like that’s changed much but I have to reexamine if that’s true. Do I really want to go into full-time missions or am I just saying that as sort of a cop-out. It’s challenged me to rexamine my position.
Another great thing was a whole bunch of NYC alums came to visit and see PJoe and PMilo.
Tina Shao:Aww man, I don’t really know them. They’re like from a different generation.
Bow-nan:What the?
Me:What the? They’re all my class guys! We’re not that old!
