My Thoughts Exactly
I’ve been thinking a lot about this the past couple months. Pondering it over and over, testing and approving in my mind. Checking the scriptures, testing literature, and I think I’m getting close to what is accurate. Then I listen John Piper’s sermon for this week and now I’m pretty sure I’m close to understanding this in my own system of thinking.
Headship is the divine calling of a husband to take primary responsibility for Christ-like, servant leadership, protection, and provision in the home.
Submission is the divine calling of a wife to honor and affirm her husband?s leadership and help carry it through according to her gifts. – John Piper.
I would go into my interpretation and how I see incredibly harmony and synergy that you would want to, be compelled to fulfill your Biblical role, Biblical mandate to headship or submission but that is beyond the scope of this post. I’ll probably post something after Piper finishes his series on Marriage.
