Stuck

February 14th, 2007

It snowed like crazy and if you read anyone else’s xanga from Illinois, you know it was the first snow day in 20 years followed by another one (today). I never got a snow day during school. We had to trek to class! Either that or skip it.

Last night I was about ready to go to sleep at around 12:15. *KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK* Goes the door. Dan Kim asks if we can help get Jack’s car out of the snow. I grab my coat and bundle up cuz it had been blizzarding all day. We get out there and first have to get Alex Joe’s car out of the snow. Rocking and pushing and clearing out snow. Final we spring his car free. Then we get to Jack’s. His car is buried in the snow from trying to drive into a parking lot but hits a drift. We shovel and clear. We reverse and push, reverse and push, and shovel and clear, and reverse and push. Finally we get it out. Then he tries to park next to where Alex parked. Jack pulls in and *thump* gets stuck in another drift. Push, reverse, clear snow, push, reverse. Rinse and repeat. Finally we get him back out. We decide to put him in the Atrium parking garage. But there’s about a foot of snow in front the garage and his car isn’t gonna make it. We get his car lined up and are about to start clearing out tracks for him when a truck comes. “Great, now we have to move Jack’s car so the truck can get through.” Lo and behold! The truck has a snow blower in the back and the guy offers to help us clear out tracks to get Jack’s car in the garage. Sweet. He clears out two lanes and we get Jack’s car in the garage at 1:20. After an hr of pushing, reversing, and clearing out snow, I get to crawl into a warm bed.
