Invincible
I?m invincible until the will of God is finished for my life. – Unknown
I’m usually a pretty safe driver. I don’t really speed, drive agressively, or take chances while on the road. I’m also pretty good in the snow. It’s not like I’m from the south or something where it doesn’t snow at all.
Yesterday morning I pick up a few guys from the dorms and we’re driving to church down Fourth St. It’s a relatively major road but they hadn’t plowed it yet. I’m not going too fast, like 20 – 25 mph down it and we come to a red light on Daniel St. About 50 – 75 feet before the light, I start slowing down. I feel the build up of snow between my tires and brakes so I start pumping my brakes to remove the snow and stop. Pump pump pump – stil not really slowing down. Crap we’re going right through the light. I finally come to a stop in the middle of the intersection. Seeing as I already went through it, I just kept on going. Then I get to Springfield. Knowing what already happened, I start breaking well in advance. PUMP PUMP PUMP – nothing. Still going too fast to stop. I was making a right hand turn so I look to my left – no cars and procede to turn.
I “ran” two red lights on my way to church with a car of underclassmen. At either intersection there could have been another car coming the other way and they wouldn’t have been able to stop in time either. Makes me incredibly thankful for God’s provision of safety and reassured that God still has plans for atleast one person in the car.
