Real life situation (not for me).
My friend’s (I’m serious here) girlfriend is at school 2 hrs away. He’s planning on proposing to her but he doesn’t have the money for a ring yet. It’s her birthday on Friday. However, he just started working at a new job and their Christmas party is also on Friday. He’s told his girlfriend/fiance`-to-be that he won’t be able to make it school to visit for her birthday because he’s going to the Christmas party. Now he’s having second thoughts. Should he still go to the Christmas party or surprise his girlfriend?
