Scare of a Little Death?

August 8th, 2006

The other day, my coworkers and I were talking about scary places we’ve been. I’ve been to the ghettos in Baltimore, Philly, Chicago, and Harlem. Most of them during the day time, except for Baltimore, that was pretty interesting. So last night I went out for a run which my 2.25 mile course takes me down Hessel Blvd which is about a 3/4 mile stretch with no street lights. It’s not really a scary neighborhood as it’s lined with decent houses and such. I was thinking, hmm … I’m not really scared to die. It’s not like I go out and look for ways to do, or do life-threaten activities (well, some might argue that) but you know, I die, I die. I believe God is sovereign and I’ll die when he says it’s time to die. Until then, I’m invincible! If I die, I’ll be upgrading my life. Some may think I’m morbid, I just think I have a more real picture of Heaven. The pleasures of this world don’t compare to those that will come. Maranatha!!!!

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Phil. 1:21
