Booking Tickets

July 19th, 2006

I have to fly to San Francisco during the beginning of school. At first they wanted me to fly and miss the first two weeks of school. I’d miss How To Survive, the first LG of the year, coffee house, first servants meeting, first sunday service, small group info night, small group draft, 2nd servants meeting and be back in time for Labor Day weekend. Well, that was going to be a problem so I talked to my manager and now I’ll be leaving for San Fran the Monday after Servants retreat and returning the Thursday before the First LG. I’ll be around that weekend, then fly back out to SF on Sunday and return Saturday. Atleast now I won’t miss first LG and Sunday service, coffee house, and our first servants meeting.

While I was booking tickets, the flights that I wanted leaving Champaign on Sunday went up $500 while I was trying to find a suitable return flight. As I kept on looking, flights kept on disappearing. I finally told my manager that I needed to book something because flights kept on disappearing or increasing in cost. I guess that’s sorta what happens b/c we’ve waited so long to figure out my trip plans to SF.

I’m pretty sad that I’m going to be missing the beginning of school. I won’t be around when all the new frosh get here for orientation, when people move in early, or even for the beginning of classes. Atleast I’ll be around a little bit that weekend to hang out with people and catch up. I feel sorry for my coservant cuz we’re going to have cram 2 weeks of prep into that 1 weekend. She’ll also have to do our small group draft by herself. Hopefully I won’t be missing out on any more weeks during the year and they’ll only happen during school breaks or intercessions. It’s pretty funny . . . I’d rather be in Champaign than in San Francisco . . .
