Passion Week.
Man, what a great sermon last night. I can always tell the great sermons b/c I’m like, P.Min stop preaching, and let me pray. Then servants mtg today was great. I think it’s just a culmination of everything that’s been going on. I’m stilling getting blessed from a portion of scripture that I read last week from Hebrews. Reading about the Sacrifice of Christ in Chapter 10, then the call to persevere b/c He is faithful (v23). Then he talks about what faith is in Chapter 11 and all those people who were faithful, clinging to the promises of God and enduring hardships because the world was not worthy of them. They were commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. And now in Chapter 12, b/c we are surrounded by witnesses who testify that it is possible to finish this race faithfully, we fix our eyes on Jesus who for the joy set before before him endured the cross and endured such opposition we should not grow weary and lose heart. We haven’t stuggled with sin to the point of bleeding yet! Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Then P.Min’s sermon on making choices, we need to fight our desires for fleshly pleasures and get addicted to the right things. We need to actively choose the right desires. Then servants mtg on purity of heart. We can’t fight because our hearts are so divided. We need to be purified and detoxificated from the things of this world so we can fill ourselves up with more of Jesus. We fast so we can fight our desires then we feast on Jesus. Then Bible study on bearing good fruit. We need to have a solid foundation in Jesus so what comes out of our hearts will be good fruit.
And now Passion week begins with Palm Sunday, then Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Sunrise Service, and Easter Baptism to the Easter Dinner. I’m so excited to fight like crazy this week. I’m giving up one more thing for this week and it’s gonna hurt like crazy but all the more, I have to fight this flesh and feast on Jesus. The more labor that’s put into building our foundation, the deeper and wider it is, the stronger the house will stand when the winds and waves beat on it.
Until I see you face to face and grace amazing takes me home, let me throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and let me run with persevereance the race marked out for me because in my stuggle against sin I have not yet resisted to the point of shedding my blood. Therefore, I will strengthen my feeble arms and weak knees.
