Feed My Sheep

August 17th, 2005

As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” – Matthew 14:15-16.

Jesus tells his disciples to feed five thousands plus people. There’s no way that his disciples could feed that many people. He sets them up for “failure”. He puts his disciples in a position to depend on him in order to care for the crowds. I feel that this semester, God is telling me to “feed his sheep”. He is putting me in a position where I’m going to “fail” so that I depend on him. People keep telling me, don’t mess up, don’t mess up. I know I’m going to mess up but there is power in his commandment and waves of grace waiting for me when I do. It’s all about learning dependence because nothing I can do can feed these people. I’m gonna learn alot about dependence and grace. This is gonna be an interesting year filled w/ alot of growth.
