Weekend Wrap-up

July 4th, 2005

Great weekend. Did lots of stuff, spent lots of money.
Friday: Lunch @ Fridays: $12
Bowling with Chesed: $13.50
I bowled a 154. I think that’s my highest beating my 137. I bowled a turkey. First “real” turkey ever. (I bowled 3 strikes in a row but it was all in the last frame.)
Saturday: I did nothing.
Sunday: Lunch with CHESED @ Chopstix: $6.50
The crispy eggplant was surprisingly good. Not like crispy tofu, but good.
Orioles game: $9 + $2.50 parking + $1.50 drink.
Fun time with some guys I work with. We were sitting way up upperdecker. You could still see. Their stadium’s nicer than Yankee Stadium. It’s nice and open getting a nice breeze and decent view from all over. Plus they let you bring in outside food. CRAZY!
Dinner @ Crabby Dick’s: $15
Mmm . . . crab balls in Seaman sauce. Haha, good stuff. I got a softshell crab sandwich. It was yummy. First time I’ve had it.
Maxes Bar: $0
Didn’t drink, but I tried my friend’s drinks. They had 70 beers on tap, quite a variety. He tried this one Rasberry Flamboise. It seriously tasted like Rasberry Syrup. Way too sweet.
Monday: Metro Ride $6.50
Lunch @ Union Station: $2+$6.50+3
National Air and Space Museum and National American Indian Museum: $0
Dinner with some CHESED people: $18
We ate at Tony Chen’s. It was pretty good Chinese food but pretty expensive.
Fireworks on the National Mall: $0
It was pretty good. Nice setting seeing the fireworks behind the Washington Monument. Dunno if I’d go see it again it was pretty fun. It took us 1.5 hrs to get home which isn’t THAT bad but definately awhile.
Total cost: $96 for 4 days of fun.
Hanging out with Chesed, my coop friends, seeing the Orioles lose (and the Yanks won that day), seeing Fireworks in DC and enjoying a three day weekend: worth taking a sick day to make a four day weekend. Oh yeah!
