I remembered what I was gonna post yesterday as soon as I got into my car. If you could be addicted to music, I’m addicted to the Bourne Supremacy Soundtrack. I purchased it for 15USD and it’s been great. I can’t wait to jump into my car and drive around so I can listen to it. It’s got a great combination of soothing sounds with some upbeat ones that get you going. And since it doesn’t have words (except for one track) it doesn’t really get old cuz you can’t really remember it. Ah- so good. If you want to listen, shoot me and a message and I’ll stream it over Winamp for your listening pleasures.
So people want to know about Chinese politics? haha I’m not one to teach it. I learned all about the coming of power of the Chinese Communist Party in 1949 from the Guo Ming Dong (Now in Taiwan). Mao Zedong took control and lead like a dictator. He was a revolutionary, not a political leader. We learned about the problems he caused with his revolutionary ways including the 100 Flower Movement and more importantly the Cultural Revolution. After Mao’s death, his appointed leader only ruled for two years until Dong Xiaoping took control. His reign was marked by market reform. He was responsible to fix up all the messes caused by Mao. Notably in his reign was the Tiananmen Square Protests of 1989 – Which refelected to growing dissatisfaction of the Chinese people not only in the students, but also the workers and people of Beijing. Since then, Jiang Zemin succeeded Dong Xiaoping and Hu Jintao succeeded Jiang Zemin in 2002. China has become marked by more reform. They actually have elections at the village level of politics. They are openning their borders to allow foreign investors come in. However, with all the economic boom, there has been a mass migration of workers to the cities causing all sorts of problems and conflicts. And there was alot more to this class. There was about 18 lectures cramming into 3 days, which makes this a 6-9 week course. Or you can go to the Library and check out a book about Chinese Modern History.
