Do you even want a job?
I didn’t even go looking for this, it found me. Why look for a job when you can be your own boss. This article was a good read and insightful even if it is really long. A synopsis for those who don’t really want to read it:
The risk vs reward for starting up your own company and failing is worth it for those who are young. So instead of spending that first year broke and looking for a job, make your own job, fail, and be broke but have a wealth of experience in trying to setup your own job. They asked companies like Yahoo, Google, and Amazon if they’d rather hire someone who took a job for two years after college or someone who tried to startup their own company and failed. “Zod Nazem, who’s in charge of engineering at Yahoo, said: I actually put more value on the guy with the failed startup. And you can quote me! So there you have it. Want to get hired by Yahoo? Start your own company.” For those companies who buy startups, they’re getting quality employees with drive and a new ideas. Those employees get huge signing bonuses by being bought out after only a few years of work.
And other stuff like that. After reading it, it made sense to me and convinced me that starting your own company after graduation is a reasonable idea. If only I had ideas . . .
