I wish I had a brain
I’d like to apologize for no Australia pictures being posted. I WILL do them tomorrow. I will schedule it in. I just haven’t had time to post the pictures. Any for that matter b/c it’s gonna take so long. I have to go through 2000+ pictures and pick out the best ones. On top of that, I need to do small group pictures as well. Aiya! Plus today I was delayed about 30 minutes coming home due to the inclimate weather. Hoping for a snow day (they’ve had them before) tomorrow but I doubt it. It stopped snowing.
Today at work I got my JRQ? Job Requirement Qualifications? Basically a list of things I need to know to get “certified” to do my job. 5 levels, 1 being basic like do I know how to navigate Windows, etc. Rest of the stuff, I don’t really know. I picked up a few things by reading this book they had me read during the semester. I’m really glad I got atleast 1/2 way through so I have an idea of what they’re talking about. In the back was an appendix of things I should already know. Due to the extreme crappiness of our school in teaching PRACTICAL CS, I know very little bit. I’ve never done ANY networking stuff so I don’t know the break down of an IP Header, the 7 layers of OSI, Protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SNMP, and all this other “basic” stuff. Fortunately I have about 2-3 weeks before my “boot camp” where they teach me alot of what they do and how to do it so hopefully I can find books in the office to explain this stuff to me. That or somehow get on the internet and google this stuff so I’m not behind. Stupid UIUC and their theory. Theory never got anyone a job, practical programming gets them a job!
