In a New York Minute

December 15th, 2004

Quickie before it’s back to the books. CS421 midterm sucked. The syllabus for the exam lied. Piece of garbage. Worthless class. The only parts I liked about that class was the type checking and parsing / interpretation. I guess those are interesting, the parsing was neat. But if I didn’t have to take that class, I wouldn’t have. Econ 420 could have gone better. Didn’t studying one thing that I should have, that probably cost me like 6-10 points. That plus random stuff that he put on the exam that weren’t in my notes makes me hope for a curve like on the midterm. I’m packing up all my junk. It’s a pain in the butt. B/c basically I need to be ready to leave an hr after my last exam. Poor planning on my part.
Other news. I found out my roommates for the spring. I’ll be living with my roommate from the summer which I’m excited about. I know one of the other two guys so I’m excited. Still trying to figure out what fellowship to join for the spring. To complicate matters, there’s a CFC Alumn small group out there. That brings my options up to 4, Georgetown, UMD-CP, CBCM, and CFC. The choices, the choices. Plus I’m looking to start something with the COOP’s again. So that’s 5. I think I can do 2, 3 max. We’ll see how things go.

I’ll throw in a Christmas wish list but I WILL NOT BE GIVING OUT PRESENTS THIS YEAR except to my immediate family. I DON’T WANT PRESENTS THIS YEAR. Support a missionary or sponsor a hungry child, or give a gift to an orphan or something. Better than wasting $20 on me. But if you do want to spend money on me, here’s what I want: 1) Settlers of Catan + 5/6 player edition. 2) CD/MP3 disc player. NOTE: I cannot be an mp3 player or I can’t bring it to work and that defeats the purpose. 3) Laptop carrying backpack. The messenger style is nice but I think it puts an uneven stress on my body. Other things that would be gravy: Computer upgrades, RAM stick for my shuttle, preferably 1GIG, batteries for my laptop, both standard and exp. slot, Audigy NZ – the USB version so I can use it w/ my shuttle and laptop, USB 802.11g wireless card that supports promiscious mode, Buffalo Kuro Box. But yeah, don’t buy me gifts. Instead, I’m going to be supporting my pastors as they leave on Missions. P.Milo as he goes to Thailand, and P.Peter as he goes to the Middle East. I’d rather have my money go to someplace with eternal consequences than some gift that will be forgotten in a year.

I’ve made the HFL playoffs this year after being knocked out by my dad last year. Haha, and I think I goet Tim Yung even more hooked on football this year! Here’s to the 2004 Freshmen!!!!! – ok back to the books.
