Best first person shooter ever? One could give a good argument for Half-Life. Game of the Year, it redefined the way developers wrote single player aspects of the genre. And then, it spawned the mods of that swept the multiplayer fronts for years (and still does). Producing the best mod of all time TFC and that other played mod CS. But who plays that garbage?
Eagerly awaited is HL2, set to continue the trend that made Value so popular. The demos wowwed and awed viewers with active pixel shaders and all that fancy pretty picture stuff. Set to be released this September but delayed to Christmas, I can’t wait. But what’s this?!?!?!? Someone STOLE their source code? They hacked into the developers computers and took all their hard work? Took the game that could have redesigned the genre again? Took the game that’s been eagerly awaited by many? I’m infuriated! What jerk would steal a company’s livelyhood? They stole years of work! What a jerk! Who flaunts their stuff by stealing something SO good! I mean this jerk delayed the game till April 04!!!!! ARGH!!! I wanted it for Christmas. I can’t believe someone could be so childish. Why hack them!!! Why! I mean come on! You know what stealing source code does? It’s one thing to steal a build, but the source? They SELL that stuff, not only as the game, but to other companies for millions. ID sells their engines to make even more than their games. You know how many games run the Q3 engine? You know how many would have run the HL2 engine? With those looks? None now that it’s been delayed. It’s gonna have to wait. Man! I’m so pissed. As soon as I learn something at this job of mine, you better watch you whoever you are! All I have to hope for is Doom3 by holiday season. Leave their source code alone for the sake of all gamers looking forward to the slew of saliva-inducing, eye-popping games.
