Rant: Final Words 2002-2003
What a year. I loved every day of it. It was a great school year. I’m so glad I moved to CRH and Snyder. You guys made this year great. Only regret was my slow start. Freshmen are awesome. Too bad you guys won’t be frosh next year. No more excuses.
. I have some things to say in regards to this year. I’ll start out with the general words of Tim’s limited wisdom then I’ll go on to personal shoutouts.
General – Please stay in touch with me and encourage me next semester. I don’t want to be a stranger when I return. If I don’t see you guys when I come back for a week after missions, I’ll see you at Urbana or OIL. Please make an effort to go to atleast one of those retreats. It’ll be good times! ack, I can’t believe I’m 1/2 way outta here!
Snyderites – never forget what made this year so good. To me, it was the open attitude of everyone. We were one big clique, one big loving Snyder clique that welcomed non-Snyder people. Don’t lose this mentality. It’s what’s drawn people here. This is the reason why it was so fun, b/c people were so welcoming and open. Also use this as a method of outreach. Don’t limit yourself to CFC people. There are other wonderful people in the dorms. This is a great ministry opportunity! Take advantage of it and don’t forget. I’ll be praying for you guys while I’m gone.
People going potluck – Think of it as a blessing. Make the most of every opportunity. I don’t regret going potluck freshman year and living with a non-Christian roommate this year. It has taught me so much. If you have a problem w/ your roommate, 90% of the time it’s your own heart. PRAY! Pray like a mad man! Start praying for your roommate now. Not that you’ll get one that you’ll like, but one that you can reach out to and love. It is THE best way to build a relationship with a non-Christian (if your rooommate is non-Christian of course). It’s a great ministry opportunity and see it as such.
People moving out of Sndyer: Don’t be strangers. Don’t forget your roots. I’ll still love you. (Or I’ll fight my evil heart to) Come and visit whenever. Of course I’ll only be around 2nd semester, but still!
Now for the specifics:
Qbert – I’m SO SO SO glad you were in my sg this year. You’ve really taught me and encouraged me alot. Just your hunger and attitude alot drives me to regain what I’ve lost. Keep on growing! Maybe we’ll be in sg again next year.
Snyder 350 – Thanks for letting me be your fourth roommate this whole year. You’ve guys really taught me a lot, both good and bad
. Going to MP together, sitting there listening to you guys spout out D2 facts, watching random games, doing homework, and of course, telling Joe to get out of the room. You guys rule. I’m so glad I got to know you guys this year.
Taft – You’ve been a great help to me this year. Your dedication has really encouraged me to press on. Don’t give up on Snyder! Keep up the good work! And wake up for MP next year. I won’t be around to wake you up when you fall asleep looking at your alarm clock. LOL.
I’ll definately keep in touch (as you’ll be housing my computer
)
Ex-Roommate – Please stop blaming me for your rooming situation. It’s not fair to me. I found you a roommate for next year and you didn’t want him. Instead you choose to go potluck. That’s not my fault. Perhaps we can still room together for 2nd half. Just kick your roommate out of the room
. Let’s visit each other this summer anyways. It’ll be fun.
Derilict – Enjoy your summer and come visit. Be sure that CS is for you after 125 and 173. It just gets harder from there.
And don’t be a loner next year. (I don’t know how you can living with Qbert and Ed) Hope to see you soon!
CRH8 – You guys have been awesome. I know your not supposed to compare small groups so I won’t say if this year is better or worse, but you guys really showed me what a loving small group is. It’s encouraged me so much. Words cannot express this year. CRH8 2002-2003. When we have our small group reunion, let’s make it 2nd semester so I can be there too! Keep it real guys!
Missions PP – You two have been the best. It’s been so encouraging with all the things you guys have told me and helped me out this semester. Your prayers are my life-line! Don’t stop praying! I’ll be praying for you guys too.
